AI assistants are most useful when they can actually see what you are working on. A general-purpose chat window is one thing - but when Claude knows your teams, your outstanding actions, your upcoming catchups, and your goals, the conversation becomes something far more practical.
Manager Toolkit now has a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Connect it to Claude once and you can manage your entire workflow through natural language - creating actions, logging meeting notes, reviewing your targets, and much more - without ever leaving the conversation.
This is not just AI that summarises text. It is AI that can read and write your management data, in context, as part of a real conversation about your work.
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard developed by Anthropic that lets AI models like Claude connect directly to external tools and data sources. Instead of copying and pasting information into a chat window, MCP gives Claude secure, structured access to your applications so it can read and act on real data.
Think of it as a bridge between Claude and your software. The Manager Toolkit MCP server exposes your management data - teams, actions, catchups, targets, meeting notes, surveys, retrospectives, and journeys - as a set of tools that Claude can call on your behalf.
Secure by design
OAuth 2.0 authentication. Claude only gets access after you explicitly approve it. You can revoke access at any time.
Real-time data
Claude reads live data from your account - not a snapshot. When you ask about outstanding actions, it checks right now.
Natural language
No commands to remember. Just describe what you want and Claude figures out which tools to call and in what order.
How to connect Claude to Manager Toolkit
Connecting takes about two minutes. The process uses OAuth 2.0, the same standard that lets you connect apps like Google or GitHub to other services. Here is how to do it step by step.
Open Claude and go to Settings
In Claude, navigate to Settings and look for the Integrations or MCP section. The exact location varies depending on whether you are using Claude.ai in a browser or Claude Desktop. In Claude Desktop, open the app menu and select Settings, then choose the Integrations tab.
Add a new MCP server
Click Add Integration or Add MCP Server. Enter the Manager Toolkit MCP server URL: https://mcp.manager-toolkit.com/mcp - this is the endpoint Claude will connect to.
Authorise the connection
Claude will redirect you to the Manager Toolkit authorisation page. If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to log in first. Once signed in, you will see a summary of what access Claude is requesting - read and write access to your teams, actions, catchups, targets, meeting notes, surveys, retrospectives, and journeys.
Approve and return to Claude
Click Approve Connection. Manager Toolkit generates a secure access token and returns you to Claude automatically. The connection is now active. You can revoke it at any time from your Profile settings in Manager Toolkit.
Start the conversation
That is it. Claude now has access to your Manager Toolkit data. Try starting with something simple: "What are my outstanding actions?" or "Show me my teams." Claude will call the Manager Toolkit tools automatically and respond with your real data.
The Manager Toolkit MCP server URL is https://mcp.manager-toolkit.com/mcp
What Claude can do with Manager Toolkit
Once connected, Claude has access to the full breadth of your management data. Here is a breakdown of every area it can help with.
Real workflow examples
The best way to understand what this unlocks is to see it in action. Here are some conversations that become possible once Claude is connected to Manager Toolkit.
"I just had my weekly 1-1 with Sarah. She mentioned she is feeling stretched on the current sprint and wants support with the roadmap presentation next Friday. Log the catchup with a neutral sentiment and create two actions: one to check in on her workload mid-week, and one to block time for roadmap prep before Friday."
Claude logs the catchup, creates both actions with appropriate deadlines and team member assignments, all in one message.
"Show me everything that is overdue or at high priority across all my teams."
Claude retrieves your teams, lists all outstanding actions, filters by status and priority, and presents a clear summary with the most urgent items first.
"I have a team retro tomorrow. Create a retrospective for my Engineering team with three columns: What went well, What to improve, and Action items."
Claude creates the retrospective with the columns ready, so participants can start adding notes as soon as the session begins.
"Have there been any recurring themes in my catchups recently? I want to know if there are any issues I keep discussing with my team."
Claude reviews your catchup notes and key themes, identifying patterns and surfacing topics that have come up multiple times - things you might not have consciously noticed.
"Which of my team targets are currently off track, and what is the deadline for each one?"
Claude queries your targets, filters by status, and presents the off-track goals alongside their deadlines and success criteria.
Security and privacy
We take the security of your management data seriously. Here is how the connection is protected.
- OAuth 2.0 with PKCEThe connection uses the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code flow with PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) - the industry standard for secure third-party integrations. No passwords are ever shared.
- Explicit approval requiredClaude cannot access your account without you clicking Approve Connection. You see exactly what access is being requested before granting it.
- Revoke at any timeYou can disconnect Claude from Manager Toolkit at any time from your Profile settings. Revoking access immediately invalidates the token.
- No data stored by ClaudeClaude uses your data to respond to your messages in the session. It does not train on your management data or store it beyond the conversation context.
Get started
The Manager Toolkit MCP integration is available now. If you already have a Manager Toolkit account, connecting takes about two minutes. If you do not have an account yet, you can sign up for free and connect Claude straight away.
To connect, open Claude, go to Settings, add an MCP server, and enter https://mcp.manager-toolkit.com. Follow the OAuth flow, approve the connection, and you are ready.
Once connected, start with something simple. Ask Claude what your outstanding actions are. Ask it to log a catchup. Ask it what is on track and what is not. The more you use it alongside your natural management workflow, the more time it saves - and the less you have to context-switch between a conversation and an app.
